The man who pleaded guilty to breaking into the Colorado Supreme Court building, causing major damage, has made significant steps toward sobriety but his actions still have consequences, a judge said.

Brandon Olsen pleaded guilty in July to one count of arson. He broke into the Ralph L. Carr Colorado Judicial Center on Jan. 2, 2024, and started a fire.

The man pleaded guilty to charges related to the attempted bombing and several pending cases, prosecutors say.

"A horrific fire in which numerous people were killed," Assistant District Attorney Grant Huebner said. "This charge is not for that fire." ...
